Dr. Jennifer Alverson
Dr. Jennifer Lee Alverson Graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1990. She attended Jacksonville State University and UAB School of Optometry earning a Bachelor Degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctorate of Optometry in 1998. Dr. Alverson opened her practice, Eyecare & Eyewear, in Southside in 1999. She is active in the community by offering free services at area health fairs as well as speaking to many different groups and organizations on the importance of ocular health. Dr. Alverson is involved in medical missions abroad and has traveled to rural areas in Jamaica and Honduras to provide eye care and spectacles to those in need. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Optometric Association and was awarded "Young Optometrist of the Year" in November 2004. Dr. Alverson is also involved in rolling out the InfantSEE program, sponsored by the Alabama Optometric Association, to the North Alabama region. She served as the InfantSEE State Leader for the last 5 years.
